I heard that the Cybermen were invading in the X-Mas special, though that might just be hearsay |

I've been told that the Cybermen return in Series 2.... or does the Christmas Special count as Series 2 or a link inbetween series? |

I think the xmas special will centre around the relationship with Rose and the newly regenerated doctor. There are a few rumors that CE will somehow also play a part in it. I don´t really see how unless he has left himself a few holographic messages to deal with a dodgy regeneration. Its hard to see how a xmas special can be special without some big well known foe in it as well as well as mortal danger for the earth . After all theres no proof whatsoever that xmas is celebrated on other planets is there?
If I had to put money on it then I would go with the Cybermen or a crisis on Gallifrey. If we assume that the new viewers must also be tied over then it is logical to assume that the slytheen could be involved.
formulas: new Doctor - Old foe -- Winner
old doctor/new doctor Old foe --- Loser
New doctor new foe ----- hmmm a bit dodgy specially at xmas
might be interesting to have a Dotor who´s xmas Carol with the Doctors of Past, present and future yeah thats a good one, you reading Russel? _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

Could also be quite jolly with a happy ending type the doctor dances. St. nicholas lives, cant see the doctor rescueing santa claus though. _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

has it been confirmed how many/how long the christmas special(s) will be? also anyone know of any confirmed cast members?
there are lots of ideas you all came up with on plasticbag that weren't explored/even touched on at the end of this series, some ideas being:
the whole adam being a "new davros", 2nd (or is it 3rd now) generation of daleks
big Face of Boe evil scheme thing
going back to the time war, what actually did happen??
Capn Jack's missing two years
to be honest there's probably going to be as much speculation about this as there was about the last episode, so i'm just throwing some ideas into the mixing pot, and they're probably not that hot, never mind, that half the fun ain't it _________________ "look, i'm busy resonating concrete"

I'm certaint that some of the theories above will be answered within the next two series.
And as for the Christmas Specials, it HAS been comfirmed that there will be one this year and one next year. |

Would'nt it be funny if they went back to 2005 and had christmas with Mickey and Jackie? Then aleins could invade. Can just imagine Mickey's reation to new doctor. "You ain't big ears, surely!" |

lol i can just see it now!!!
but wouldn't that be like the slitheens, a bit too repetitive from series 1 for my liking
the master's already been done in film form, so it probably won't be him... _________________ "look, i'm busy resonating concrete"

just read this on plastic bag:
"You want a prequel? What about a two hour Time War special with Paul McGann (the best Doctor we never had), older different costume to the TV movie, let him play it how he wants, but give us Daleks and Time Lords, Eric Robert's Master joining forces with the Time Lords to revenge himself on the Daleks for Exterminating him, then betrays them at the last minute causing the two sides to be destroyed accidentally killing him at the last moment. One McGann survives, but, exhausted falls to the floor, doesn't think he will regenerate with his homeword and the Eye of Harmony destroyed, so when he does turn into Ecclestone, he sits up, and says... "Fantastic!"."
Thanks Nigel Robinson
would this work? can the doctor remember things from his previous regenerations? (oh yes, barcelona, answered my own question!!) _________________ "look, i'm busy resonating concrete"

That sounds good. I too think McGann was a good doctor and a shame that we didnt get to see him that much. The should do a prequel showing McGann regenerating into CE. |

and there would have to be exessive deviousness on the part of the master, cos CE is really convinced it was all his fault...
i'm really liking this idea _________________ "look, i'm busy resonating concrete"

I can't really see any prequels at the mo as Doctor Who is still aimed at a new audience, the series has kind of started again from CE, but still counting the previous Doctors, but just not including them much in the new series.
