Err I was the one who put it's Ok. Why? Well because the BBC do have a very particular outlook on Doctor Who which is, understandably perhaps, very much geared to promoting their own interests. The Beeb do have the Monopoly on Dr. who but what they write about it doesn't always correspond to the reports of the people who worked on the show at the time. What is on the Web site is (again understandably) a very subjectively focussed information. They do not lie about doctor who and the info that they put up there is certainly not false, but they do, somewhat purposefully leave a lot of stuff out. A bit like Kofi Anan doesn't lie to people about rebuilding Iraq, he just forgets to mention that a member of his family just happens to benefit from landing some major contracts over there. I guess if there was another option on the Poll I would put the Beeb's site under the "Pretty good but slightly biased" category. _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

Do I have any theories on what is happening to him? Well I do actually, but I am going to keep it to myself for about a week until the bonus question of this weeks quiz has been answered. It is in any case only a speculation. Regenerations can go wrong for any number of reasons the eighth incarnation almost didn't happen at all thanks to the effects of a general anesthetic e.g. _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

Well, now that it has been established that the Cloister Bell is ringing at the end of the snippet, I think we can safely say that the Tardis is in big trouble. We also know that the Tardis is symbiotically linked to our favourite character. So if the Tardis is dying then it is safe to assume that a part of the Doctor is too.
The Time vortex may well be something to do with it. The newly regenerated Doctor is seen almost to spit a bit of its energy out and then later in the crash landing sequence says somthing like "let's rip right through that time vortex" implying that precisely that time vortex is responsible for the current situation. So when rose and the doctor messed about with the energy in the time vortex "No one's meant to do that" the vortex, (presumably the eye of harmony) became unstable and threatens to unravel the space time continuum. So those are the "facts" as we've seen them on screen.
So as of here its all speculation, but here are a few.
1) The time vortex in order to stablize itself requires 100% of its energy and a bit extra thus it must return to the heart of the Tardis before it has time/enough energy to stabilize the doctor's regeneration. The doctor may well be dying again as the time vortex is finding it difficult to extrapolate the doctors energy from its own.
2) The eye of harmony/time vortex has been opened and indeed out of control for a little while and as I remember there is at least another person in there who is quite capable of opening the eye of harmony and provoking a crash landing
3) Up until this time the time vortex has had a link to the original on Gallifey (Omega's black hole) If gallifrey no longer exists (Dunno) this link will have been severed and may be entirely necessary in order to reestablish stability.
4) Some higher power sitting on the sidelines up until now may well be interested in keeping the time vortex unwhole for the time being and has yet to play his trumph card!
Just speculation _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!
