Happy New Year Everyone and sorry for not posting over the Christmas.
As well as being caught up in all the Christmas activities, my computer has been working hard over the holls rendering underwater scenes for a documentary about Living Coral and is still doing it, but the temptation to post has got to me so I have stopped it temporarily.
Any hoo, first if I go over anything anyone else has, sorry in advance, as like I said I'm a bit behind in all the goings on.
Christmas Special.
I must admit I had to watch it again as I was slightly intoxicated (very) on Christmas day, but I watched it the next day and thoroughly enjoyed it, on loads of different levels.
First.... love the new Doctor, David Tenant seems to have a schizophrenic twist to his character, a very much don't mess with me but if you're nice I'll have Christmas dinner with you and be the life and sole of the party, think we are going to like him...
Second.... Loved all the hidden refrences to Chris Evans....Ginger jokes...well I hope they were... It was nice that after the Doctor had mentioned it in what could be interpratated as negative, he pauses and said I've always wanted to be ginger, very disappointedly, which was funny picturing Chris Evans.....then to add to this he put on Chris Evans type spectacles which is a nice touch... wonder if he will continue to wear them in the new series.
Question...has the Doctor ever worn specs in any of his past incarnations.
Third..... Aliens... I'm sure I’ve seen the Sycorax before and even in a similar situation, when they first appear on a TV screen, it's got me baffled cos they are described as “new aliens”. If someone else has seen them before let me know cos it's got me baffled .... or maby there are a similar species which I have missed out on.
All in all, it really wet my appetite for the New Show and I think the new Doctor has a few more tricks up his sleeve, pardon the pun.... _________________

The fith Doc sometimes wore specs, and claimed to be short sighted. _________________ Mistress should engage running mode

Yeah, the fifth Doctor wore glasses as the writers of the shoe wanted to remind viewers that he still is an old person in a young man's body. I guess they are doing the same thing with Tennant's Doctor. _________________ "Correctamundo! A word I have never said before and hopefully never will again" The Doctor in 'School Reunion'

Seriously It's the bit were they appear on the TV screen, it's so familiar, someone must have seen them before _________________

Mars Attacks?
I think the 'evil invading force' in that took over the TV temporarily, didn't it?
Unfortunately, that part was very clichéd, in both films. The blood control in Doctor Who made up for it, as did Mars Attack's humour! _________________ Three English teams in the CL Semi-Finals!

Hi Deako, sorry for not posting for a while I'm still rendering the underwater scene for that Doc and I'm only stopping it from time to time.
Any hoo, yes you are completely right, Mars Attacks does send alarm bells ringing and the blood control aspect was a good element, especially as it was like being hypnotised and you couldn't really make the subjects do anything that harmed them... nice twist. _________________

Don't apologise! Lol. Doing a bit of research, the first doctor daid he couldn't see without glasses, but hardly ever wore them! _________________ Mistress should engage running mode
