i would think he could survive for ever in the other universe, also maybe in the eye of harmony..... like the master? maybe?

That's one possibility. Then if they should ever want to make a new series they could just call it a remake and start counting from Doctor One.
Maybe The 13th Doctor could turn evil and go off bodysnatching like the Master does.

They could not possibly just stop making the series. Maybe he will just not get killed for a while. Ther will be no one to save the universe!

i pondered this question myself a few months ago, i reckon that they'll prevent the doctor from regenerating for quite a while yet.
i think it's possible that the doctor could discover some kind of 'elixir of life' to keep the series rolling, that or they'll start over with doctor 1
OR son of the doctor...

some kind of timelord hybrid, doesn't quite know if he's (or she's, could be a daughter...) going to regenerate being only half a time lord/half human/something else...

According to the TV movie he is, but I am not sure if he actually is!

well, whatever fraction of time lord he is now, it would be halved unless he meets another one

Maybe a Timelord could mingle with another species. Perhaps a human. Or cloning...
And of course the doctor could have already met his son, because he also has the ability to travel in time and space.
This speculation makes me think of something else, but I'll post that elsewhere.

I've read on wikipedia that in the 1970s, after the Master had used up all his regens, he tried to capture the Eye of Harmony in order to give himself a new cycle of regens.
Perhaps this could happen to the Doctor.
