Biography: Kathey, i'm kat, a slightly crazy person who's just finished uni and is trying desperately to cling to the life i once knew 
that aside, i LOVE the new series of Dr WHO, obviosly. i have so far tried to bring an element of logic to theories and speculations, but some of you are being silly, so now i have no choice but to unleash my full persona on this forum (well i do have a choice, but i've made it so HA!)
i'm a big fan of british comedy, from the goons (i was brought up on tapes, i'm not that old!) to blackadder, to 'allo 'allo to faulty towers, to yes minister, to red dwarf, to lots of other things, also like fraiser which isn't british, but you can forgive the yanks for making one good live action series can't you
i like the monty python films and star wars
also among favourites are eddie izzard and harry hill, i have a memory like a tape machine and you will often find me randomly quoting various people for my own amusement 
In other news, i got back from glastonbury last night, after winning tickets on wednesday!! woooo. my first ever music festival, it was amazing!! roll on 2007!!
i've just finished a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and i was meant to be starting teaching in september, but i failed my last placement and am waiting to be told whether i can retake it again, this is the biggest thing in my life at the moment
any suggestion for what i could do instead? what do you guys want to do when you finish education?

i'm having my BA graduating ceremony this year cos i had to do resits last year tooo! oh well, never mind huh! this means that instead of having to get up twice in one ceremony, i'll get two separate ones a year apart like i was meant to

it is brilliant, it's the top two floors of a georgian town house, and i'm living with two girl friends, we had our housewarming party on saturday night and it was ace, i wasn't expecting half the people we invited to turn up, but just the right amount came and we had great fun. we played twister and junior pictionary and my sofa got annexed, but that's another story
my room is huge, but coming from having a whole house to myself i have an awful lot of stuff to cram in to it, i'm still unpacking!
we got a washing machine delivered this morning and i've spent the entire day fitting it and buying extra piping and sussing out why it wasn't working, but it's all ok now so i can get some clean clothes, YAY!
there's a man from bt coming to sort out our phone line on wednesday, bt say my flat doesn't exist! so i should have a landline by wednesday evening and get my net connection back up to 5 working days after that.
in the mean time i'll be taking my laptop to b/fs house to hijack his connection when ever i can, like what i am now

ok, flat update:
all is not well in katland, house mates have been driving me up the wall for sometime now, and as you know, when the kat's up the wall, the curtains get wrecked
any hoo, me and chris have been looking into moving out for a while now, and i rang my friends landlord on a whim as i knew she was moving out, he said he had someone already but if their references fell through he'd give me a call
i got a call today, we're meeting up tomorrow to hand over the deposit
i can't believe it!! i'm sooooooooooo happy
it'll be the fourth time ive moved in 18 months, but hey, got a good feeling about this place

believe me i could do with the money right now, gonna have to pay rent one two places for a month cos the tenancies overlap
signed the agreement though, we get our keys in a couple of weeks, so come january i'll be settled once again hopefully it won't take so long to sort out the internet in this place!

moved into the new place last night, no internet yet, but as long as i'm employed by lovely people who let me surf at lunch time you should notice no disruption
its *biscuiting* freezing as we've yet to figure out how to use the storage heater to it's best effect, gonna *borrow* some bubble wrap to insulate the singly glazed windows a bit better
road outside is very noisy, but we'll get used to it, or get some earplugs!
other than that, it all seems to be going well, i'll keep y'all informed of how it's going

Update: I am about to commence the final part of my teacher training, i finally got a placement sorted out, it means i have to start gettting up at 6am instead of 8:30, but it'll be worth it in the long run

Years 1 and 2 mixed class, so i've got all the Year 2s that are aiming for the lowest acceptable level for their SATs coming up and a mix of Year 1s but mostly higher end
For those non-england and wales people Year 1 is 5-6 year olds and Year 2 is ages 6-7 so the majority of my class were born in 99, two in 98 and seven in 2000

well, i'm nearly 3 weeks in and have a mild flu like thing i got sent home yesterday lunchtime becuase i "sounded terrible" so i'm spending today drinking lots of fruit tea, relaxing (much needed) and getting ahead on my planning so i don't have to work quite so hard over the weekend 
i had an observation on monday which means someone from uni comes and watches me teach, she said my lesson was fine but wanted to see more planning in advance, and by that i mean coming in on monday with your lessons for friday planned, hence the extra work this week.
i have to say i'm a bit glad i'm ill, i have been pretty much constantly exhausted since i started, not much fun to be around and i miss my kitchen!! plus it gives me a chance to really get into what i'm going to teach next week
at the minute i'm in two minds as to whether i'm really cut out for this job, but the only way i'm going to find out is by getting this placement finished, so i'd better stop slacking off and get some work done today

well, that's the end of that chapter
my mentor and i came to the same decision separatly, i'm not cut out for teaching
as of yesterday lunchtime we stopped my placement, i'm having a bit of a break to get my head sorted out and to do all the house work that's been mounting up!!
i feel quite positive about this though, and i feel quite confident in the skills i know i have, just gotta find a job where i can use them
oh, and i don't have flu anymore

As a "Case Handler", i now officially handle cases (no i'm not jazzing up the job of baggage handler) I work for a solicitors firm and will start off dealing with naughty people who take out buy-to-let mortgages and then don't pay their repayments, then once i've got that i'll be put onto more complicated cases like where someone with a mortgage has died and stuff like that
a comlicated job, but they think i'm up to it

the wedding is set for next July, although it can't come soon enough for me, we've just moved again to save money, me in with a mate and chris in with his parents, which is turning out to be a really weird arrangement.
i wish we didn't keep moving every 6 months! ah well, after july it'll be different, only 315 days to go!
