The Doctor

Trivia

The Doctor is also unable to shuffle cards with any skill in Tom Baker's debut story Robot.

When the Doctor is listing plastic items which will come to life in "Rose" ,he includes "telephone cords" which threatened his third incarnation.

The Doctor mentions the unsinkable Titanic in Robot (1974). In The Invasion of Time (1977) he says he is not responsible for its sinking. In The End of the World however he confirms he was there and ended up clinging to an iceberg however in the previous story Rose its stated that the Doctor prevents the Daniels family from boarding the Titanic before its maiden voyage.

The Cyberman's head on display in "Dalek" is labeled as having been "recovered from underground sewer ... London ... 1975" which is a direct reference to The Invasion, (although the head shown is of the style seen in Revenge of the Cyberman)

The scene in which Rose, Adam and a soldier look down upon the Dalek, assuming it can't climb the stairs is a debunking of the infamous scene from Destiny of the Daleks were the Doctor taunts the Dalek. It similarly copies the popularly overlooked scene in which a Dalek follows the Doctor up the basement stairs in Remembrance of the Daleks.

The Doctor and his companion have met their current selves once before, equally briefly, in The Day of the Daleks.

Captain Jack is a 'Time Agent' - such individuals were previously mentioned in The Talons of Weng Chiang

The Doctor's psychic paper refers to his name as Dr John Smith, first used in The Wheel in Space

Captain Jack's spaceship uses the Tom Baker era TARDIS console room hum

Curiously, the Doctor mentions that he is not a grandfather but still a Doctor - A kind of non-reference to grand-daughter Susan

The Doctor misquotes the song lyric "Nobody here but us chickens" as he has previously done in Stones of Blood
Zhord

Could it be that a previous incarnation of the Doctor boarded the TARDIS and the ninth Doctor simply stopped the Daniels family from boarding?

Could Susan, the Doctor's grandaughter, simply be adopted, like mentioned in one of the 8th Doctor novels?
The Doctor

Georgia Moffett, daughter of Peter Davison, who starred as the Doctor from 1982-1984, auditioned for the part of Rose.

Christopher Eccleston, largely unfamiliar with Doctor Who because he was never a fan of the "Doctor Who" (1963), prepared for the role of the Doctor by watching the DVD of "The Talons of Weng-Chiang", a Tom Baker adventure originally broadcast in 1977. Having seen the Time Agents on the episode, he suggested that Captain Jack should claim he was one.

Penelope Wilton, who played Harriet Jones in episodes "Aliens of London" and "World War Three" of "Doctor Who" (2005), was offered a part in the original "Doctor Who" (1963) series as Lady Pienforte in the episode "Silver Nemesis". The part was taken by Fiona Walker.

Tom Baker and Colin Baker were considered for guest parts for the new series.

A scene filmed for "Bad Wolf" featured John Barrowman (Jack) naked, but the censors insisted that it was cut.

For one shot, the Sycorax were intentionally posed to resemble Queen's music video of Bohemiam Rhapsody.

For "Bad Wolf", the BBC got permission from Endemol to use the "Big Brother" (2000/III) format, right down to their own version of the Big Brother Eye and the loan of some of the equipment used in Big Brother. This includes a Diary Room chair.

Sorry for any i have done twice in other sections...
