i think zhord is right to be suspicious of jack, i mean, we don't know much about him do we? except that he's a con artist and an ex time agent, but what does that tell us??

all we have to go on is his own ward about himself, which, cosidering he's a CON doesn't give us much grounds to trust him.

having said that, this makes his character quite exciting and i would definatly like to see him return, but not for christmas, i think the doc and rose need some time together Very Happy

i would much rather see jack come back later in season 2 so that his character has a chance to develop. i would also be pretty disappointed if the don't make him a bad guy by the end of season 2.

I agree with letting Rose and the 'new' Doctor get to know each other a bit in the Christmas Invasion, but leaving such a faithful companion behind and not returning to pick him up first chance you get doesn't seem right to me.

I'd like them to come back for Jack within the first three episodes. Everyone they leave behind is a potential future enemy. Think of our Adam-theories. Maybe that will happen, and the Doctor will learn something new about right and wrong.

He doesn't always get these ethical matters right. He has to learn those things.

Looking at it from a writers point of view, they brought Jack in near the end of series 1 because the Doc and Rose needed a soldier to fight the Daleks.

I think RTD has writen Jack out for the first half of series 2 so that the series can start off slowly and then continue its momentum to the finale at the end of the series, which would be the fight against the Cybermen.

Also, Jack's character would become "boring" and "in the way" if RTD has no use for him at the beginning of the series, because the series would start off slowly and then pick up speed in the last couple of episodes - just like series one.

do you think the cybermen battle will happen at the end of season 2.... im not so sure i think the cybermen will probably be a reccurring enemy for 2 or 3 episode in the middle of the series..

I would expect the cyberman battle to be a end-of-series finale, just like the Daleks, but maybe appear in a couple of earlier episodes for the build-up.
