any one for chips?
a more "girly" episode i thought, more focus on character development than action
i wonder is deako happy that k9 got blown up?
i thought the cracking of the code and the green spinningness of the computers very demon headmasterish, i was expecting SPLAT to appear
a code that gives the powers of the gods, do we think this is likely to come up again?
and how about ANOTHER spin off series with rose and SJS? _________________ "look, i'm busy resonating concrete"

Umm, liked the code thing and the idea of taking all the good bits of the races you conquered is a great idea, maybe come up again.
It was very emotional episode i thought and very sad. I can see a spin off coming and maybe when Rose does leave SJS will appear again to take her in? _________________ Mistress should engage running mode

Hey folks, just saw the episode. I thought it was brilliant, just as I imagined it to be. I thought that all characters played their part extremely well right down to John Leeson (K-9). Some great traditonal acting! Possibly the best Ep yet. I was a little weary about Mickey travelling in the Tardis but I think he has come a long way since cowering behind the stairs in "Rose" and is now travelling for the right reasons i.e. not because he wanted to be with Rose or because he wanted to see the stars (remember Adam?) but because he wants to prove something to himself; "I am not a tin dog".
Several times during the episode the look on Rose's face was just priceless. I can definately see Rose and Mickey turning out not liking each other now. Can't wait for the inevitable episode where Mickey has a relationship with some beautiful alien life form or other so that I can watch Rose squirm a bit more. (Ahem!) On the other hand, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if at the end of the season they both stepped out of the Tardis and got Married and lived happily ever after leaving the doctor to keep boldy going where no one has gone ......err sorry wrong series
The Doctor not saying the word "goodbye" to SJS the first time round has been remedied to the relief of all of fandom I think. We had all waited a good 25-30 years for that one!! Honestly! If you have never watched the Hand of fear I should go back and watch it now even if it is just to catch the goodbye scene (Which would be cheating a bit) It really is the most tremendous emotionally charged scene (Paper tissues at the ready ) and I think it was matched by the emotion in ep3 although it was certainly spread out over the whole episode rather than in the last 3 minutes as in the hand of fear. This is (I feel) what the Doctor is all about, he fights to control emotions that other normal people have desperate trouble with. There has always been deep emotional turmoil which the Doctor cannot allow himself to bring out into the open for fear that it would consume him, those around him and perhaps do some serious damage to the fabric of time and space, who knows? We get a quick glimpse at it sometimes and it frightens us as we see it through the eyes of others who have paid a heavy price for their Burden.
Roll on the next episode, which will of course be entirely different _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

On DW Confidential (Aired on Beeb3 after the episode had finished), tey showed the last few minutes of Hand of Fear... It was terrible how the Doctor could just leave her like that!
