Yup, she was in The Myth Makers in November 1965 to The Daleks' Master Plan in December 1965. _________________ "Correctamundo! A word I have never said before and hopefully never will again" The Doctor in 'School Reunion'

Didn't Katrina refer to the Doctor as Zeus or something?
And the mysterious sound the 10th Doc heard was a ringing bell? I'm guessing it involves a crash landing, and some of the vortex was still inside the Doctor's body, making his regeneration going wrong? _________________ "Correctamundo! Ok Ladies, Gents and off-world beings. here's the latest from our ever popular Dr. Who Saturday Quiz. This time it's actually going out on Sunday (a day late) because yesterday I was snowed in in the middle of the german mountains and could not reach a terminal. Sorry, I hope it hasn't caused too much inconvenience.
Ok errrrrrrrrrrrrr Don't know what to do here. I thought that the last question (i.e. Who was the first companion to be killed off in the series?) would cause a few problems, not least because of my own definition of companion. So let's go ahead and clear a few things up.
1) Adrienne Hill was the actress who played Katrina in both the "myth makers" and "The Daleks Master Plan" stories.
2) She was meant to be a long term companion to replace Vikki who had just taken on the guise of Cressida and stayed behind at Troy to be with her beloved Troilus (Trojan prince).
3) Seemingly unbeknown to the cast and crew of DW, Adriemme Hill never had any intention of being a DR.Who companion and had planned to leave the show before ever really being contracted as a companion. (I presume that in those days contracts for supporting actors/actresses would have been for stories and not for seasons)
4) As soon as the director found that she was to leave whether he liked it or not, the Character Katrina was to be written out as soon as possible. thus
5) Katrina was killed off as early as episode 4? in the 12 part story "The Daleks Master Plan"
6)The Character of Katrina thus appeared in two Dr. who Stories but did not actually last out the two full stories before she snuffed it.
7) Adrienne Hill never saw herself as a DW companion the way the writers and directors did.
So was she a companion or wasn't she??? Well... I don't rightly know myself. If she was then she was definately the first companion to be killed off but if she was not a companion then she wasn't. She referred to the Doctor as "Lord" most of the time and it seems to me that she didn't really have the time to gain the rank of companion what with not even calling him by his real name. (btw. it was Achilles who first thought that the Doctor was Zeus) It is true that she travelled in the Tardis, indeed other well established companions never had this privilege or took ages to do so. This doubt is why I put in the extra condition in the question that the companion should specifically have accompanied the doctor in More than 2 stories.
The next companion to be killed off happened eighteen years and four doctors later. His name was of course Adric and he was killed off in the final episode of the story "Earthshock" So this was the answer that I was looking for. Unfortunately no one got it. Zhord however will be awarded 1 bonus jb for his valient effort.
Now let me see there, last week there was also a bonus question about What in heaven's name was that noise at the end of the Children in need sketch/Tennant intro? What does it mean and in which other episodes or stories does it appear. Zhord was the only one to make an attempt at this bonus question with his timely "a ringing bell"
Well Zhord you are quite correct it is the sound of a ringing bell. However it is not just any old bell but the Tardis' Cloister Bell. so you will be given a half JB for that. The Cloister Bell only rings in times when the Tardis is in very very grave danger. As a matter of fact it only rings when the Tardis is dying or when the entire universe is facing impending destruction (in which case the Tardis would also be dying although admittedly somewhat indirectly). The Bell can be heard in a number of stories. I can from memory think of 4-5 stories but I think now that you know what the cloister bell sounds like, I will leave you another week to earn the bonus Jelly babies set aside for this part of the question. I will tell you however that the first time it is heard occurs in an old william Hartnell story called the edge of destruction.
So after that here's the current state of play:
Zhord 5 jelly babies
Kat 3 and one half jelly babies
Sutekh 3 and one half jelly babies
Deako 2 and one half jelly abbies
Bretheror 1 Jelly baby
It would appear to have been Zhord's week as he jumps in to the lead with 5 Jelly Babies Yum-yum. Still all to play for though as we have 5 more questions and 25 days to go until the xmas special. Until next week I leave you with an easy question 7:
7) In the 1996 TV movie which Opera does Grace get called away from in order to operate on the Doctor?

Hello Ladies, gents and off-world beings. Another week has gone by in quizland and last weeks question was:
7) In the 1996 TV movie which Opera does Grace get called away from in order to operate on the Doctor?
and the answer was of Course Madame Butterfly by Puccini so a Full 2 two Jelly babies scurrying their way to one of Katīs many addresses. I would have given a bonus JB had anyone mentioned that it was Puccini that wrote the Opera btw.
There were still some JBs up for grabs at the bonus question of - in which stories does the Cloister bell ring? Well now the Cloister bell rings in at least the following stories:
The edge of destruction (Episode 1 I believe) with Mr. William Hartnell playing the Doctor and Susan recognising the sound of the bell.
Logopolis. Tom Bakerīs Finale
The Enemy within which is of course the posthumuos name given to our 1996 TV Movie with Mr. Paul McGann as the Doctor
Now I do have some doubts, (really) about if it has appeared in other episodes. My memory is somewhat vague on the issue (Honestly) I can envisage the Bell ringing in a couple of other episodes but I havenīt had the time to check it out. If someone out there can confirm whether or not the Bell rings in these stories then I may be able to grant a further JB. or 2 the stories about which I am doubting are the following:
The invasion of time - Tom Baker episode with sontarans invading gallifrey
Castrovalva Peter Davisons first story (Episode 1I believe)
The Parting of the ways - Christopher eccleston
Thanks for the help and happy hunting.
Good now this weekīs question is In which year does the "end of the world" take place? An easy one perhaps.
Now then those of you who are good at Maths will have noticed that we have 3 questions left and only three Saturdays left til Xmas eve. The scores are indeed terribly close with Kat half a JB ahead of Zhord. The Leaderboard loks like this:
Kat 5 and one half jelly babies
Zhord 5 jelly babies
Sutekh 3 and one half jelly babies
Deako 2 and one half jelly abbies
Bretheror 1 Jelly baby
Look out for Bonus questions in mid.week Time is running short.
till next week _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!
