Controversial Analysis.
It is said that Star Treck has influenced many science fiction movie and TV shows and they all gain inspiration from it....... years ago one of my favourite and scariest Dr Who villains were the “OGRON” yes they were mostly controlled by other evil powers that be, but I thought they looked and acted formidable, they looked like they could do the biz if they needed to fight, they took prisoners by the score and their whole culture was war like.
When Star Treck Introduced the new look Klingons many years ago I never went... cool design or thought great character philosophy they live by , well I wouldn't at that age, but I knew I had seen them before, I may cause some controversy here but I feel the people who came up with a new klingon look were Dr Who fans and saw the potential in these characters and copied them, they nearly look identical except for the” mars bar” bit. I do like Star Treck and I always have, but when every documentary uses it as an analogy for technology and designs they always miss out “Dr who” which was out there travelling the cosmos of space and time and introducing technology and futuristic designs long before ST and while the classic ST show had finished first time round, Dr Who was continuing to go where ST was not and trying all kind of ideas, not attempted until the ST Movie came out and we know the rest...... Ogron wana-bes, “The Klingons”.
So, is it just me or can anyone else think of some concept nicked from Dr Who or from some other science fiction program claiming to have thought of it first. _________________

I loved the Ogrons too! One of their best moments has to be in "Dr Who and the Frontier in Space." That also included the Draconians.
They should bring both of em back for series 3.
And for the debate.. I can't think of any at the mo but when I do I will post em. _________________ "Correctamundo! A word I have never said before and hopefully never will again" The Doctor in 'School Reunion'

Yeah Sure. Well said btw.
The Cybermen were entirely stolen from Dr. Who put into Cubes and spheres sent to the Delta quadrant and were renamed "Borg"
Klingons are very suspiciosly like Sontarans in their Psychological makeup. ONly real difference being that Sontarans are cloned and as such have no females. The Original Klingon in the Star Trek TOS was an awful lot more human.
THere are many other half inched concepts which I remember from time to time, not necesarily just beings but ship components and technology _________________ The Master returns ...Wow!

Half inched technology, I posted a link to this section on my movie & TV forum, like this one it's part of the free org one, anyhoo one of the people on there came up with some interesting Dr Who things that have been used in other shows and movies... I'm posting up what "Jonny" posted on the Dr Who post segment.

I must admit after reading your post on the Dr Who forum, it got me thinking and there are quite a few Dr Who characters and other things that have been copied in Star Trek, SciFi movies and other TV programs. I think it’s been going for that many years that people have seen it and been influenced.
The new Dr Who series.... my brother and younger sister think it is all new and that the Daleks and everything else have just been thought up. They watched one of my tapes, I had recorded resonantly from UK Gold of Tom Baker and they said,” that's not Dr Who, it looks so old”.... Kids.
Back to borrowed elements from Dr Who in Star Trek and other movies.
Spock died and Regenerated.
Star Wars, The Clone Wars.... Sontarans are cloned and as such have no females, also bred for war.
Stargate SG1 the Gaold are snake like creatures that control their hosts and believe themselves God like, I’m sure there was a Dr Who story that had a God type serpent who used a host to contain it’s energy.
I came up with these very quick so given a bit more time, I’m sure I could come up with quite a few more.

I have one that isn't DW.
Has any ever watched an old black-and-white movie called Metropolis (not about superman)? Well the 'mechanical woman' in that is rather strangely similar to C3PO out of Star Wars.
Mr. Harrison, this could be your chance with your movie-knowledge to step in and back me up! _________________ Three English teams in the CL Semi-Finals!

To back up your statement two pics of........
